Mentimeter or Nearpod: Which tool should I use?

In many cases, the two tools and their features are interchangable, however both platforms deal with content and data slightly differently. Take a look at the link below to compare a list of features, and if you’re still unsure, get in touch with the eLearning support team and we will be able to help.

Mentimeter vs Nearpod

Mentimeter

Mentimeter is a cloud based software which allows you to create online presentations with live elements from your users. You can ask your users questions, generate Word Clouds and much more. All the data is recorded by the system automatically.

While excellent for live sessions, you can also run a homework piece for users to work through in their own time (this is time limited).

Nearpod

Nearpod is a software that allows you to share a powerpoint with questions across a live class on multiple devices. As the teacher you choose to share your presentation, users can then access the presentation via iPad, phone or desktop computer. As the teacher moves from slide to slide, the connected devices also automatically change.

Questions can be included in the slides for users to answer and you can see live what they have answered.

Another option is student-paced presentations, whereby users can access your presentation in their own time, with no teacher involvement.
