Online Interactivity

What do we mean by ‘interactivity’?

Essentially, we mean creating something that changes as a result of the user’s action. It might be a pre-defined interactive conversation, a drag and drop exercise, or simply having to click on an object to reveal more information about it.

Lumi

If you want a single small interaction to include within a website, then Lumi is the tool for you! Lumi can be accessed via a desktop app (recommended) or via it’s cloud editing service. Lumi creations might include:

Wordsearch and Crossword, Drag and Drop, Interactive Timelines, Branched Scenarios, Interactive Videos and more.

The beauty of Lumi is that it can be embedded into other applications (e.g. websites) and depending on the type of content that you create, you can access usage statistics.

Powerpoint and iSpring

Did you know that Powerpoint can be used for much more than your typical boring lecture slides? From custom navigation, short animations and lecture-style content using both audio and video, it’s easy to share a professional presentation that opens automatically in the slideshow view.

iSpring is a Powerpoint add-in that works to make your Powerpoint deliverable via the internet, while also providing additional tools such as in-built quizzes, interactivity and activities – the results of which can almost all be tracked. While the iSpring data isn’t as powerful as what you might get from a specialised survey tool, it can still provide some useful insights.

Pros: Powerpoint is easy to use and share. iSpring distribution is straightforward and can be delivered as part of another resource.
Cons: iSpring is a Windows only tool with limited licenses. Quiz responses require an element of manual processing.
