Websites and Web Design
While all of the tools here aren’t website makers in the strictest terms, they can all be used to create various types of digital content made for viewing within one digital space or site.
Wix
Wix is a website development tool that is catered towards those with little experience of building web content. The majority of the website building elements use drag and drop features, allowing you to experiment with different layouts, designs and functionalities. Wix allows you to easily create a modern looking website, and with 800 templates to choose from, the possibilities are (almost) endless.
Cons: Customisation is limited – if you are experienced in website coding, there may be better options out there. Tracking/analytics is limited, and your website will display a Wix ad banner at the top (you are not penalised for this).
Softchalk
Softchalk is a website building software that allows you to turn basic textual information into an interactive resource. It is a good choice of software when the design of the site is text heavy and should be linear, so read/completed in a specific order. For example: interactive handbooks, online revision resources, interactive help guides, interactive workbooks, case studies, etc.
The software contains built-in quiz questions, activities (such as crosswords, flashcards, etc) through simplistic design and basic templates. As this software effectively builds a website using HTML, you can also insert other technologies into it (e.g. animations, videos, embeddable objects).
Softchalk comes with “Softchalk Cloud” and “Scorecenter” that hosts your resource and allows the student responses to the quiz questions that you insert to be recorded.

Adobe Express
Adobe Express is a web application that can be used to create social graphics, short videos and perhaps most commonly among SCP students, web pages. It has strong visual design options, is very easy to use and is particularly good for text-based content. Note that it does not have inbuilt question or analytic features, and can only be used for linear content (i.e. there is no branching or multiple page options).
