Hosting your SCP Video Online

If you’re submitting a video as part of your resource, it’s essential that you upload your video in the correct place. This will nearly always be the university’s own video portal (i.e. the place where you find your lecture recordings).

Open the step-by-step guide below to find out how it’s done.

Resource: How to Make a Good Podcast

Creating a successful podcast for science communication projects involves several key steps. Start by defining a clear theme or topic that interests your audience and aligns with your expertise. Conduct thorough research to ensure your content is accurate and engaging, using credible sources to support your points. Develop a structured outline to organise your episode, including an introduction, main content, and a conclusion that summarises key takeaways. Use a conversational tone to connect with listeners, avoiding jargon wherever possible to ensure accessibility. Prioritise audio quality by investing in a good microphone and recording environment, and edit your episode carefully to enhance clarity and flow. Finally, promote your podcast through social media and relevant platforms to reach a wider audience and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Moovly – Animation Tool

Moovly is an easy to use software that can be used to make professional-grade animations. Based entirely in the cloud, Moovly gives you access to thousands of images, icons and audio that can all be pieced together to create an engaging and informative animation. Furthermore, the software allows you to import your own media (e.g. images, videos and voice-over), meaning that you can specifically tailor your final product to the needs of your target audience.

If you’re using Moovly, it’s important that you sign up using your university email address to access an ‘educational’ account with additional features. Note that if you start creating on a non-educational account, it’s not possible to transfer your project over.
