Recording audio naration to your PowerPoint on a mac is quite easy, however if you are later uploading to VoiceThread, you need to make sure that you record in the correct manner. Follow these settings closely to ensure your file works properly.
- After opening your presentation, go to the ribbon and locate the “Record” button.
- When the recording tools appear, switch off the camera (failure to switch off the camera will result in a file you cant upload). Ensure your microphone is on.
- When you are ready, press the record button and start presenting. You have the ability to pause if you need to.
- When you have finished and have exited the recording, you will find that each slide contains a small audio symbol. You can use this to listen to your recording.
Editing your audio:
If you find that you have made a mistake on a single slide, or you wish to improve your recording. You can do so by:
- Navigate to the slide you wish to edit.
- Click the record button again, this will take you to that specific slide.
- Press the trash button to remove this slides audio file.
- Press the record button to start the recording again.
When you are happy with each slide. Save your file and upload into VoiceThread. If you have been successful with your slide recordings, each slide on VoiceThread will indicate a small microphone symbol.
