Getting started
If you’re new to using a GoPro, the video below is a great place to get started. It talks you through the basics of setting the camera up, including inserting the SD card, turning it on and preparing for recording.
Downloading the footage
Any footage that you shoot using the GoPro will be stored on the removable SD card inside. To obtain the footage, you will have to remove and plug the SD card into a PC using an adapter. You will then be able to copy and paste the footage onto your own personal storage space.
Tips
- Experiment with some of the settings before embarking on your final recording. Make sure you shoot some test footage and are happy with it before proceeding.
- The camera will have a wide field of view – make sure you take that into account when filming.
- Your smartphone can be used to control the camera via the GoPro app – instructions on how to set this up can be found here.
- Make sure your scene is well-lit – this is often the downfall of otherwise excellent videos.
