About ‘Quick Checks’
Quick Checks should make it quicker and easier for you (as staff) to keep consistency across units and to carry out quality checks of technology-enhanced teaching, learning and assessment by bringing together several elements into one checklist:
- policy stipulations
- guidance recommendations
- other QA drivers.
Currently, these include:
- policy and guidance from the University of Manchester Teaching & Learning Delivery team (TLD)
- quality measures students will assess us on, through the National Student Survey (NSS) and Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
- guidance from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA)
- Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ratings.
Who is Quick Checks aimed at?
Quick Checks can assist academics who wish to create consistency across units and conduct quality checks of their teaching, learning and assessment (TLA) design and activities. The guides also help eLearning staff, who are often approached to conduct quality reviews or eLearning-related periodic reviews. Quick Checks can also be used prospectively, to help guide the designing of blended or distance learning resources and activities.
