Sean used Zoom to run his teaching sessions. More information on teaching using Zoom is available on our training page. If you would rather use a different system, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is an alternative that is integrated into Blackboard course units.
In terms of hardware, Sean uses a combination of a Wacom Bluetooth tablet and the Bamboo Paper app for Windows. Other alternatives are available, such as Noteshelf for Macs. As well as dedicated tablet devices, it is quite simple to use an iPad to achieve similar results.
When you introduce a new method of teaching remotely into your curriculum, we would recommend you test your setup thoroughly before using it in an actual live session. You may be able to get colleagues, family or friends to act as your audience, but if not you could join the session using more than one device to see how other participants will experience what you’re doing.
